Baie dankie vir die deel, ek ry lekker saam ..... :thumleft: :thumleft:

This RR just gets better!!! What's more....I personally am not normally too interested in that part of the world, but you have made it so very interesting and I thank you for that!

200cc bike, loaded like a camel, 2 up, on those tyres.

I think this RR is going to be linked to quite a few discussions  :sip:

Lekker trip, lekker RR.. nice one

2-Up on a 200, and far to go too!!

Despite the buff and pink knife, you two have my respect.

What was you average speed, say on tar, and on dirt?  What was your consumption, fuelwise?

OK, I also use a buff, to compensate for my worn-out old Airoh S4, and my shrinking 62-year old head.

Average speed and consumption?

The first pic sums up what this trip was all about - take the road less traveled.

Sadly, we had to move on.

We passed through Fraserburg on our way back to Sutherland. The amount of water still flowing, although the rain had stopped, was still amazing

The scenery was still amazing.

Although the peaks and valleys seemed to increase, the road surface made for effortless cruising.

Both of enjoyed this part of the trip.

After a quick drinks stop in Fraserburg we continued on at a steady pace. The road was much more dusty and we could see other vehicles km's away - the vista's was truly amazing.

Riding on this piece of road got interesting. I had to make sure that I kept to the existing "tracks" and not meander to far left or right. The "middelmanetjie", a combination of sand, small rocks and shale, actually became my friend. As I switched tracks (to navigate away from the worst corrugations and white rocks), the bike floated over it which made it easy for me to feel when the road surface changed again. No white knuckle gripping of the handlebars here - just smooth transitions.

Lovely RR.  I really enjoyed working my way through it.  Apart from showing me your great adventure, it reminded me of a time, 40 odd years ago when I did a few tours on a Yamaha RD250.  Not two up, but you RR had me dig out the old photo albums and dream of some great days back in the day.  Looking forward to your next RR.  Hopefully, there will be many.

A man who rides this route, 2-up on a 200 can use any colour knife he wants in my opinion.  :thumleft:

Not easy to see on the pics, but some of the blind rises are actually dangerous and scary. The first pic in particular made me stop to capture it. As you ascend, you have no idea what is waiting on the other side. You can meerkat all you want, even if you are 7ft9, you can't see. On two of these, the descent is immediately followed by a turn to the left or right just as you crest. I quickly learned to slow down and respect the road more.

Let me not start on those long sweeping bends that abruptly ends in a descent with cliffs either side of the road.

Still enjoyed it though!
