Must have been record rain fall here in KZN turned friday into bit of a do I want to ride in this or dont I .

We made the desision to cancel Red and Yellow routes on Friday morning and sent those who wanted to on the green route which where obviously wet as it was still pouring when we left.

Sarah and I decided to take the van so we could redirect bikes on to where they should or should'nt be and stay dry at the same time.


Please add to this report and express your thoughts as I think some time in the new year we should gather and have a one day out on friday red for those who can get here.

Saterday dried up perfectly only swollen rivers could not be crossed.

Thanks to all who attended look forward to doing it again next year .

Our strategy was to wait for the rain to stop, which it did on Friday morning at about 10.  We left the hotel at about 10:30 and had a great ride for the rest of the day - few drops here and there but never needed rain gear and never got wet.

Friday was a bit slippery here and there but enjoyed the ride nonetheless.  Saturday was magnificent - good traction, muddy or red clay section here and there, no dust for most of the way - very good ride.

I enjoyed the riding tremendoulsy.  Myself, Jan, Greg Raaf, Neil Scott Williams, Colin Gallop and the 2 Bassons from Lesotho stuck together for most of Saturday with others hooking up from time to time.  Neil and Greg rode the KTM 450 Rallye bikes - I never thought a 450 could run like that on an open road.  Both the bikes are still on their original engines, so reliability seems to be there too.

You guys did a superb job with the routes!  Thank you.

What a weekend great riding, fellowship in the pub. Thanks to all who made the effort to ride. Some pic's of the KTM's lacking Talent, both survived to complete both days. See you there next year.
