We met up again at 6 at the Total garage near Melkbos. Black Thunder, Stev0, Crossed-up, and EtienneNXR rolled in for another morning of games in the dunes.
The sand was mostly firm with the usual soft spots to make your heart race, boy was it fun.

Unfortunately this time I took two tumbles into the bushes and cracked the fairing, put a lot of scrapes on and broke an indicator on the KLR but I guess it was worth it given all the fun we had.
(Black Thunder also broke a part of his rear brake pedal)

Also have a look at the video I made: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JgvRgwh30E

Here are one of those soft patches. Black Thunder ploughed through but only just.

Well I was there too. Was supposed to meet up inside the dune area with the other guys.

Arrived at the boom at 05:40. Hauled out a permit: you should have seen the dude's face drop. He was expecting a bribe  :imaposer: :imaposer: :imaposer:

Made my way to the North - Eastern side of the dunes and waited there. Heard the bikes but then it went all quiet. Waited. And waited. Eventually heard bikes again but sounded like you were leaving.

I left at about 08:00 after spending more than 2 hours there on my ownsome. Was lekker anyway. Just strange I didn't even see your tracks.

Sprocketbek, I need to get those camera settings from u, those pics are awesome!

Always easier to say it when one wasn't there yourself.

Hey, I finally made it to the dunes!

Thanks guys.  That was fantastic fun.  The ride in from the back is hectic but very manageable if taken at one's own pace.  Michiel and Black Thunder showed that you don't need a plastic to have a blast.  EtienneNXR is absolutely unstoppable.  Thanks to SteveO for taking the lead.

Nothing special. Used Canon 350D, 70 - 200 f4L lens, Manfrotto tripod (schlepp to have on the bike).

All pics posted were taken in Manual, ISO 100, focal length 70 mm.

2996: 1/60 sec, f/18.

3011: 1/30 sec, f/32 to get the depth of focus.

3020: 1/160 sec, f/14

Now can I trade that info for your cell #?
I was all revved up to take action pics but couldn't find you.

That looks like so much fun.

I need to go play on some mine dumps, closest thing for us

he was using a point and squeeze witha thingamajig that conntected it to his helmet

Yea! I got an old point-a-shoot which I just attached to my helmet with a bolt by drilling through on the side.

With the next ride I'll take a picture to show you, you'll probably laugh...

I think I've got a problem...
It's only Monday, two days after I damaged my bike, my body is still aching but I already look forward to the next ride.

Do I need help?
