I took a number of screenshots to show the condition of the pass. As mentioned previously, I've done this going in the other direction in 2017 on my Africa Twin, and again in 2018 on my 701. It was bad then, but it's worse now. Really something to put on the bucket list if you are into challenging yourself. Just the scenery and beauty of this remote place is absolutely worth it. The part from the gate to the bottom of the pass took us about 16min, including photo stops. The smaller lighter bike definitely makes this much easier.
This is how it starts. Oh that doesn't look too bad? Just wait! Hehehehe
ot:
Into the belly of the beast we go.
It gets progressively more and more rocky.
The rocks just get looser and looser.
The view that can be glimpsed over the edge.
Riding dangerously close to the blood side
Lots of times the best line is near the edge.
Anyway, the entire pass is more or less in this condition. Going up definitely tougher than going down. Either way you've still got to keep your wits about you, as one mistake can send you over the ledge.
It always amazes me to find people in the middle of nowhere like this.
Road starts to look normal for like 2min
We reach the bottom of OB Pass and the beginning of the 23 Rivers Ride. This was just the warm up :imaposer:
