PS:  Dink julle moet Naudesnek weer n go gee eendag - een van die mooier passe wat jy kan kombineer met Tiffendale - jy vat net die pad vanaf Tenehead (by piek van Naudesnek) en ry aan die hang van die berg tot by Tiffendale.  Na dit skiet jy direk af na Rhodes se kant - as jy nie bang is vir hoogtes 

Hogsback ook een van daai spots wat jy nog eendag meot besoek - seker julle sal dit moerse like

Day12 Willowmore to Oudtshoorm


My eyes opened and I thought this was it… :'( :'(..I would rather be dead than try and start this day feeling like this……

We forced down the lekke breakfast – skipped the coffee and replaced it with Cream soda (Groen Ambulans) nog steed ni gehelp ni… :eek7:. Voel nog steeds bewerig – weereens – BANG BABELAS!   It was about 11am and we had to get going…. The plan was to go to Barrydale and sleep over at the Karoo Saloon - …. But the way we feel … maybe not!!

Dr Dirt bought some Air Age pipes from Adventure MX Looks and sounds awesome!! not what we wanted with this headache but that was our own fault!

We took the R407 towards the N12 – Great road this…. About halfway it was decided to stop and have some water – was getting Really Thirsty again!!
Marique also Grabbed this opportunity to get some shut eye… DEAD – Baggas is mos baas…!!!

We got to the T-junction with the N12 and turned towards De Rust, Have to say – Meiringspoort is amazing!!

We finally arrived in Oudtshoorn, stopped at my Sus’s home and Marique decided that we must stay for about 2 hours and she will make sure that my sister’s bed is all fine :mwink: :mwink:… Seeing that the rugby was on at 5pm it was decided that we will stay here tonight and rather go have a beer and watch the rugby at the new Canteen …. :thumleft:

Marique finally arrived, thanx to my stunning Sus for fetching her @ her home… but she decided that no Alcohol will be consumed by her that evening!  > >

Like a cat looking for the best spot the 2 girls found their pozzy until dinner was served.

I’m glad we stayed, had a lot of laughs – my brother in law; aka Buff and friend, Peiter, made sure we were entertained!!  And had enough to eat!

We booked accom earlier @ the Turnberry Lodge, and arrived just past 11pm – looking forward to a great night’s sleep…. This will be our last evening on our EPIC Trip….. :-\ :-\ :-\ :'( :'(

Day13 Oudtshoorn to Cape Town

I would really recommend the Turnberry Lodge, Great place and good price…
We had a great breakfast and there was a mutual sadness creeping into me and Eva’s system :'( :-\ :'( :-\ :-[……. This is our Last day – everything must come to an end…. :deal:

Said our goodbyes to Dr Dirt and my Sus and her family. Packed everything and headed off… R62 here we come…in a way I was looking forward to getting home but again – why can’t we just skip Home and carry on – this has been an Awesome adventure!!  :ricky: :ricky: :ricky: :ricky:

We soon were caught in our own thoughts again, flashbacks of our trip, the good the bad, with the Humming of the twin Scorch pipes in the background…..
We stopped in Ladysmith for a brunch and had to leave as we were getting to lazy in the sun. :bueller: :bueller:
Eva doing the action hots again.... apparently :bueller:  feeling sleepy again!!!

Ronnie's sex shop.... a beer would have been nice...... NO - we are going home now...last stretch.......

In Barrydale Eva made me stop as she was wrestling with Klaas vaaktjie and demanded  a 40min power nap…

I kept myself busy and noticed that the rough road did cause some minor damage to Bike..Oil dripping from the shock ...can still see all the clay from 2 days ago....

Waiting eagerly for it's Master.... :ricky: :ricky:

The towns rolled past and as soon as we exited the Tunnel near Paarl we felt a feeling of accomplishment. Shortly after that we stopped in front of the house… Sad, Happy and Proud that we made it!!

It felt as if we did a whole lot more Km's.......

Like the heading, call us crazy… but we will never forget this adventure!!


Personal thoughts

Thought I’d share them with you all…. ot: ot:
Many people asked me the same thing: “do you think Marique is ready / will make it/ for a big trip like this?”
Are you well prepared?
Will you be safe?
What if something happens?
Do you have back-up?  All the usual Q’s …….

1st If your partner has faith and understanding for your passion and you have been willing to share that with her – she will be more than keen to give it a go.. :thumleft:… plant daai saatjie…. Build up a trust so that she will be comfy with u where ever the road may take the 2 of you!  :ricky: :ricky:

2nd – we were a bit worried being only the 2 of us, maybe we will get tired of each other, maybe one of us might get hurt, maybe we will fight, maybe we will end the trip sooner and head home to save the relationship… ??? ???
BUT we took every day like it was our last!
We lived every moment!
AND LOVED it!!
In fact, living on the edge like this has only brought us closer ….  :thumleft: :thumleft:

I wish all the girlfriends/wives would just give it a try….
”It's addictive, I just love the Gravel roads, especially when the bike starts “looking for grip”” is one of the things Eva said….

I really hope that the trip was an inspiration to many!!

YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE, AND IT IS ALWAYS NICER TO LIVE IT OUT WITH SOMEONE!!
