I’ve been in Tsomo before, but I used to take the tar road.

Being employed by a construction company and the company doing work in that area, I thought that I have to go and explore the area.

We (Kally - WD; Spoedvark - WD; Gerald; Neville and myself) left East London early one Saturday morning via Komga, Bolo to Tsomo.  Here are a few photos.

Just before Komga and going on tar, we saw this railway maintenance road and decided to re-group here and take this road to Komga instead of the tar.

I think we must go again and travel the other way towards Kei Road this time.  Here Spoedvark is coming "oop en toe"

Ma - there's a light in the tunnel!  No my son - it's a KTM    Nice one Gerald - I had a shock when I saw you coming towards me  ;D

After we filled up in Komga, had a Coke or two, we headed for Bolo.  Here we are at the entrance of the Matola Private Game Reserve.

From here we left for the old Transkei / SA Border.

After riding for miles on dusty roads, passing taxi's, waving at kids etc, we eventually ended up in Tsomo where we filled up.

Very very LOUD music - if you can call it music, came out of this store / supermarket.  But - as they say - Africa is not for Sussies!!

These KTM guys - cannot take them with   Gerald taking a nap  ;D

This guy was all around us. It happen to be that his aunt is the manageress at the garage and when I asked him if he wants to sit on the bike, he smiled from ear to ear. When I asked him if he wants to start the bike, there was a crowd standing around us. The photo was send to him and I think it's next to his bed :)

We left Tsomo on tar heading towards Cofimvaba. Just after Cofimvaba we turned left on gravel again towards Cathcart.

nice one!  need to head in that direction one day as well  :thumleft:

Ja neighbour,

Busy looking for his next bike, maybe a 1200 gs or 1150 gs or tiger 1050???? This was an enjoyable ride. thanks for organising. Why was I looking so worried? Was thinking if I had blades at home to get rid of that rediculous red thing around my chin and cheek area!!!!

Shaun F's father Derek is now enjoying my noble steed. Hope he is having as much fun as what I had with her.

Keep hooting when you pass my place, reminds the wife that I am still looking for the right bike!

Enjoy the next one!

Spoedvark
