Start of the 2nd of April 2023 with it being my 55th barfday and the weather was good, i had excellent company and we had some lekker dirt roads to cover . . . so all good for for my 55th day

Just before Frankfort.

Those dogs that likes to go to Clarens and not use the N3. The road from Frankfort to Reitz that was totally uprooted and then the contractors ran away seems to be well on its way to be newly tarred. Only 2 small pieces where the new tar has to be completed and then the whole way from Frankfort via Tweeling to Reitz will be back up and rideable with a normal car. How long tough i would not be betting on . . . as the new tar looks very dodge . . . but that is a story for R&P i suppose

In Frankfort the compulsory stop at the Safari Restaurant and Pub. Always ready to serve a biker cold beer and good food. At the moment they seem to be going trough a change of ownership but still the Windhoek's were cold and fresh . . .

Last stretch home via the the dirt road leaving Frankfort town via JJ Hadebe Str and then turning left onto the R716 going to Oranjeville via the steel bridge. This road has also had its fair share of contractors running away with the money after doing very little work other than tearing up the tar etc. But it seems there is some action here now as most of the teared up tar is being replaced heading into the Steel bridge

The same for the road leading out of Oranjeville going towards Deneysville seems there is again activity to complete the tarring here.

The Mill in Marquard that seems to be very much in working today. Then a lekker cold one from the Restaurant/Accommodation across from the Mill called "Oppiestoep" well worth a visit if you are in THIS the part of the world

Me and Swambo had the nicest burger at Oppie Stoep after driving in pouring rain to get there! Nice trip and report!
Pity that the small town are being destroyed.

Die is eintlik n eina RR want soveel plekke wat aan skerwe le. Ficksburg bv, het ek familie wat ek nog sou besoek maar nou te laat agv tyd en die lewe wat
so gejaagd raak dat niks inpas nie. Ouderdom oorval man soos n dief in die nag. As jy weer sien is dit te laat. Sommer gou gou. Die 25 jaar oue manne wat dink alles is reg ? Maak groot vout. Dit wat jy eet voeter jou op. Dit wat jy kyk ook, die worries oor werk, geld en baie ander dinge.
Ons het uit eindelik weg gebreek en trip deur die land gedoen Wes Kaap toe en terug, wat n besonderse unieke land wat ons het. So het ons deur Klipplaat, Jansenville, Steytlerville, Cradock af na Ladismith gery en daai ding gesien. Alles gebreek en gelos.
Heimwee gehad oor al die plekkies wat sonder lewe leeg staan wat eens ons leiers groot gemaak het. Mooi fotos dankie.
