Garage blues...

So during covid and with all the political bs at the bike club , I stopped riding for a while and bought a scooter to commute with, and the GS stood in the garage...and im not sure why but the frame has started to rust only on the outside part of the frame, we do live next to the sea so that could be the cause...I'm not too worried about it I just don't want it to get worse...It's only on the parts of the frame that are exposed just below the battery...no other part of the bike was affected....

Any ideas on how to fix or stop further damage would be greatly appreciated....
