Day 4
.......On the altitudes and steep passes the 250 struggles a bit. First gear screams and 2nd bogs down. .......
Glad you enjoyed itBrilliant RR @sidetrack ! Thanks for taking the time take and then post all the beautiful piccies!
You mean the airbox cover on the right side where ones slides out the filter ?From the 250 Tornado through the CRF250L and even with the CRF300L, the narrow snorkel that flows air into the airbox is far too restrictive to supply the right amount of air that the motor actually needs to perform. (The narrow snorkel does however work a treat when drowning the bike during a river crossing. )
If you have not already increased airflow into the airbox, then simply putting M8 hex nuts (available from Builders) as spacers between the airbox body and airbox lid will supply about 80% of the extra air that these little motors desperately need. The lid screws go through the holes in the hex nuts so as to keep the nuts in place.
With the extra airflow the motor will have a lot more grunt and you will be able to Torque your way out of most situations by applying much more throttle at lower rpms without the engine bogging down. Done this on both my 250 Tornado and 300L.

Yes, that one.
Dis mal mooi. Tugela ferry is die enigste plek waar ek enige iets anders as vriendelikheid ervaar het
