Maybe this has been covered before, but I have not seen it
I was wondering… there are SOOO many scams on the internet, especially with people selling stuff and then never deliver the goods. Has happened to me (not WD or bike related) and many others. I have become very wary to buy anything online unless from a verified dealer.
Maybe there is a gap on this forum for a party to act as an independent honest broker for transactions if the buyer feels he needs more surety to do a transaction. I am thinking… let us say HB is our honest broker and I want to buy a bike in Hoedspruit, but I am in Cape Town. I contact HB, he knows everyone on the forum and asks a member close by to verify the deal. I pay my monies into HB’s account and he provides a guarantee to the seller. Seller dispatches the goods and once received at destination, HB releases the payment to seller. HB can take a small fee to cover bank costs etc… maybe 1% or so.
