Is this normal/serious? Engine plasics and oil level indicator glass melted.

I have recently bought a used low mileage 2006 R1200GS engine and have received it on Saturday.

The seller did send me a video of the engine running and it sounded good and I paid the money over and arranged for collection.

I did ask the seller how soon he has switched off the bike after his off and he says "immediately". When I received the engine and actually inspected it I noticed that the oil level inspection glass has been slightly deformed and it has small bubbles inside the plastic so much so that the oil level can not be seen through the glass. The plastic flywheel cover has partially melted and plastic flowed onto the RHS cylinder  indicating that the bike was lying on its RHS when the plastic flowed. Some plastic also into ran into the flywheel opening between the engine and gearbox

The oil is black, but does not smell "burnt".

What internal damage could I expect to find? Is there any easy way of testing/checking for internal heat damage? What is the chance of the crank, bigends and gudgeon pins having suffered damage? I would expect the rings at least to have lost some hardness but what is the chance of the pistons having deformed or the plastic chain tension guides having suffered damage?

How soon does an engine suffer damage from overheating or lack of oil when it lays on its RHS idling? I can't find much info on the internet.
