Wind ... oh, yes ... that bloody wind indeed! We were litterally blown out of Nam this year, got stuck in Klein Aus for two days just sitting around and waiting for it to drop from 50 - 60kph NE. Was still blowing after a week ...
Geez, it was bad but at least not that bad.:eek:
Luck was however on our side, we got some of that wind on our way back, saw fuel consumption figures that was pleasant on the pocket. :)

I had a very good nights rest, I can't talk for the others. :p
The best way to start the day is with a good mug of coffee, that was priority number one. That done I stoked last nights fire, I just enjoy a decent cuppa next to a fire, it always taste better. A little later I started the brekkie on the fire, man that brekkie on the fire is the best.
After brekkie we called it a day and decided to depart to the farm, we would in any case left today, just a bit later, but now was a good time. We packed up and said our good byes to the Aranos guys, they also seemed a bit knackered 😂, I think it must be something in the water.

It was a short distance to the farm, something like 100km's.
The route is from Koës down the C17 in a NE direction, onto the D511 to the C15, rigts towards Mata Mata for 14km's and then onto the D503, another 18km's and on the farm.

In any case, things were busy, from the Pan right into Town. It was nice to see a little town like Koës being so busy and people all over enjoying themselves.

We were ready to go, our last good bye to Koës Rally.

And a good bye from a fellow biker.

The C17 down to the D511 is like a roller coaster, up the one dune and down the other side, this carries on for a few kilometers, if your speed is right you get the sinking feeling, not good on a full tummy. 😊

The D511 is a bit more sandy, but much more scenic.

If you see these signs, take note, something is happening on the crest of the dune or on the other side of that dune.

This is there, some nice soft sand, we call it Poef gate. If you have enough speed you will only have a wobble or two and a dirty underpants.

What a ride, it was good to be back at the farm, here we will stay for another week or so. More photos will follow.

We arrived the Saturday on the farm. We stayed at the farm for a week and only left the following Monday. It was a nice break for us from the every day city live. We made the best of the time we were there, we enjoyed the fresh air, the relaxed and quite farm atmosphere and the awesome scenery, the beautiful red Kalahari dunes with the massive Kameeldoring trees. It was just great being on the farm again. We helped Magda here and there, not that she needs any help, she is more than capable farming on her own, but a suppose a little company can only do her good.

To follow will be photo's on what we did and saw during our stay on the farm. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Some random phodies from the farm itself.

This Southern White-faced owl is a frequent visitor, sitting in a Prosopis tree about 50m from the farm house. The wife had a ball of a time with this owl.

I just loooooved waking him up with the help of Google's owl call. At first he must have thought is was a girlfriend as he got very exited, however he got very annoyed with this human keeping him out of his daytime sleep. 😂

And if you on a farm you need to eat, so a few Dorpers were slaughtered. I acted as the local blockman. 🙈 Magda packed the meat in packets and my wife manned the vacuum packing machine. Notice the fat on the meat.
