Dankie Martin!

Dabkie Losper! Jou roetes is uitstekend soos altyd!!!

Ek gaan so paar fotos by sit...

Pragtige RR  :thumleft: :thumleft:

Goeie RR
Lyk soos n belewenis.
Dankie vir die deel daarvan.

Nice ride.  You guys definitely had your share of troubles.  Dragging big bikes over those rocks next to the track is hard work.

As ek reg kom sal ek heading verander.

Dankie  :thumleft:

So what happened to the Riemvasmaak trip? Similar riding half the distance from you, you actually trailered on this trip way past it... :pot:

Just curious about the drowned 990. When you stood it up (I'm guessing bike standing up with front wheel in the air - quite a feast of strength in two people I have to admit), did you put in in gear - ideally 6th - and rock it back and forth on the rear wheel so that the valves could open few times and water could get out via the exhaust? That is the approach [member=24174]gerrit du toit[/member] uses frequently on his 990 and it seems to work. That is why I carry rope with ratchet on my trips in the hope (probably vain) that I could ratchet the bike vertical up the tree and get water out.

What a lekke trip, thanks for the photo's. :thumleft: :drif:
Julle manne mag maar sand ry!! :drif:

we had time for a 3 day trip so didnt want to spend all that time so close to home. My bike is still [member=3364]Bill the Bong[/member]  in Kanoneiland I do hope/plan to do a Riemvasmaak day trip when I fetch it.

No we didnt rock it with front end in the air. (I just learned something, thanks) we actually picked the front end up while still in the water so maybe thats what helped us to get it up. Great idea on the ratchet strap, but you may struggle to get a tree though.

How much of that water actually ends up in the oil? Oil will be serviced this week, a little worried for what will come out.

Lekker report  :thumleft: You guys did well to resuscitate the drowned 990  ;) I submerged my 300 in Transkei during December break and struggled like hell to get it going again  ::)

Excellent ride!

Hopefully only a little water would have got into the oil. By riding that far afterwards, most would have cooked off.

I did exactly the same thing and wasn't so lucky as  some watery oil got to the rear camshaft and caused some slight wear on the journals.

Well done guys!! Great report and a proper ride! Henk seems to like lying around though? Send him my regards!

I also need to join!

But I know Mark's 990 skill level, I think Mark needs to carry our luggage, water and extra fuel.

I take it Swazi fuel is cheaper than our fuel, so Mark can bring some back for us...

Great rr and awesome pics.  Thanks for sharing.

To put this pic from your rr in perspective, see the 3 photo's thereafter.  :eek7:
The 3 last photo's is from the same tree, Grootmelkboom.  Pics taken during Oct 2020 and Nov 2020.
Almost unbelievable the amount of water.

Thanks VA. Thats actually why I put that pic up, for the guys that have been there which will realize to what extend the water has raised.

I remember the last time we were there we actually struggled to find that tree, it wasnt near the water at all
