At this point, traveling at 40-50km/h, the dust and small bits kicked up by the back wheel was hitting me on the back of the helmet. Very unpleasant
Crazy wind for rest of the day

We arrived at the Park entrance at 4:05 and were refused entrance. No amount of begging, swearing or crying could convince the officials otherwise. We were very disappointed, but Amsterdam assured us the would be plenty more sand on the trip to more than make up for us missing this part of the ride.

We stopped to regroup after crossing the tar road. I recall [member=7804]Amsterdam[/member] saying it's a short ride to Eksteenfontein where we will have something to drink before continuing

The next moment the road disappeared and it felt like we were riding in the dunes. It all still appeared very cool at this stage and we were all saying how beautiful it looked. A few minutes later it was chaos. I couldn't see 5 metres in front of me, I didn't know where the road was. Was I riding in the right direction? No idea where my mates were...... Cars coming from the front??? Sand in my mouth and eyes.

It was a harrowing experience. I was able to take a bit of video before it really got bad......
