Although some of the pics made me blush  ;D ;D ;D, this is a mighty fine ride report. Thanks for sharing...

Awesome awesome report! That's what minimalistic touring and adventure is all about. Great bikes BTW. Good to see more 200's out there doing their thing. :thumleft:

I salute you both  :salut:

It is this type of ride report and pictures that show's those from other parts of the world, what an awsome country RSA really is and for us to get out there and see as much of it as we can.

DUDE U sure knows how to handle that camera , ;D Feel free to post more pics in the pics thread if not about a trip  ;)

And Linda and my ex Beemer (which I did not miss at all on this trip) and her and her TW about a year ago during a trip to Nortwest.
Sweet Bike wouldn't mind a long hard ride on that  >:D

Great report, great pics.

i share everybody else's sentiments - its awesome that you've got a better half who is just as enthusiastic as you about adventuring.

Your reasons for the TW made me have a moment's doubt abut buying my Dakar... cause your reasoning is perfect.
But it was only a moment's doubt, cause i've wanted one for so long. if i do ever regret my purchase I'm gonna hunt you down.

What camera do you use?

I also want to know which camera.
Great ride report, you should patent the Tdub with outboard so LGF can still go for a ride.

I can see why you have to put those copyright stamps on your pics.  They are all excellent shots.
And the riding and the 2 TW's makes for a good story too, well done to both of you!

I also thought that was very funny!

I like the 'T-Dub' name as well...

Thanks all for the compliments, it makes the late night in front of the puter so much worth the while and nobody asked 'wat de moer het jy al die pad soontoe voor gery met 'n baaik as jy 'n kar het'
I use Nikon, always have, the D100 and D200 and I carry an Olympus SW720 on my handlebars, this little beaut is waterproof to 3m, shock and crushproof so after the worst I simply rinse it under a tap.  It's smaller than a packet of smokes and a whopping 7MP.
Most pics of this trip was done with the D200 but I'm looking out for a used D40x, it's more compact and cheaper to replace in case of mishap.
Thanks again for the feedback all ya dawgs ;)
