2  questions.
in the first pic is that Palmolive and does it leave your skin as smooth as they say

did you use a centre stand to lift the Dakar like that ?

Absolutely stunning - how lucky you are to have someone special like Linda to share these moments with. Greatest respect for her and her riding abilities. A model for others in the true sense of the word!  ;D

Not Palmolive, PAWolive, foam does this funny thing when Lin gets in the water.  Yip, the Beemer was on it's centerstand, but also on an anthill, that's why it looks so agressive, rising to the occasion with more bark than bite :p

Great report, great pics.

i share everybody else's sentiments - its awesome that you've got a better half who is just as enthusiastic as you about adventuring.

Your reasons for the TW made me have a moment's doubt abut buying my Dakar... cause your reasoning is perfect.
But it was only a moment's doubt, cause i've wanted one for so long. if i do ever regret my purchase I'm gonna hunt you down.

You won't regret the Dakar, well, presuming you are house friends with the bank manager and you only use clean unleaded in it and you don't mind disassembling half the bike with a funny looking Allen key to check the battery water and you have a torch and mirror handy to check the oil and water levels and.......you bought it, you ride it, and as for hunting me down, well you won't find me on foot, I'm on a TDub... just tugging your boot ;)

Although some of the pics made me blush  ;D ;D ;D, this is a mighty fine ride report. Thanks for sharing...
My apologies to the blushing oke's, I left the full full nude pics out of the ride report taking you into consideration. It might also offend the ATGATT obiding dawgs. ::)

Any chance your 'bitch' would like to become an honorary Boobism member?

You ask her yourself, she'll join the forum as soon as we're back from Umhloti, following Pgpatric there, he scooted down in one day on his TDub an I'm sure he had to seriaasly apply brakes when he got there not to end up in the mighty Indian ocean.  We'll be back with another ride report.
Ps. Linda stated that riding the TDub on such long distances improves her passion gap ::)

What camera do you use?

I also want to know which camera.
Great ride report, you should patent the Tdub with outboard so LGF can still go for a ride.
Thanks all for the compliments, it makes the late night in front of the puter so much worth the while and nobody asked 'wat de moer het jy al die pad soontoe voor gery met 'n baaik as jy 'n kar het'
I use Nikon, always have, the D100 and D200 and I carry an Olympus SW720 on my handlebars, this little beaut is waterproof to 3m, shock and crushproof so after the worst I simply rinse it under a tap.  It's smaller than a packet of smokes and a whopping 7MP.
Most pics of this trip was done with the D200 but I'm looking out for a used D40x, it's more compact and cheaper to replace in case of mishap.
Thanks again for the feedback all ya dawgs ;)

Aha! Another Nikon fan!  What WA lens was that?  The 12-24 Nikkor?

Fantastic shots!

10-20mm Sigma, stunning lens and pin sharp.

Rather look for a 2nd hand D70 or D70s because the D40 does not have an internal focusing motor and can only use lenses that have their own focusing motors(AF-S or AF-I lenses).

Just make sure that your Sigma 10-20mm have an internal focusing motor.

BTW - I love your ride report.  Great pics!

When can I ride with "one dog and a bitch"?

No tripod required to steady the Camera - I have a third leg ...

Thanks for the info, the 2 lenses I plan to take on trips both have hypersonic motors but will test them first to see if they'll work, my older Nikkors wont work though, the 85 1.8 and 60 macro will have to stay home, but those are speciality lenses anyway.
