Mooi man Oubones.

Ek stem saam..!

Loxton: We offloaded here, loaded there, sorted luggage, talked and met new faces and had some nice food!
Around 9 we got to the B&B where we were sleeping and my lights were already on dim as I had had a hectic previous week and weekend.
A real emotional roller coaster ride!
I was lucky to get a room all for myself!
Pic1: Pretty bikes!
Pic2: My nice room
Pic3: Early morning coffee! :thumleft:

Dis omtrent 'n nice kamer.

Ok, so the long haul is about to start.
Had my coffee thinking eish!
Not even all the guys are here and this solo rider is going off with the biggest group he has ever ridden with on the longest trip he has done so far in an area he has never been to!
At least my back had been behaving and did not give me hassles even till now! :thumleft:
Pic 1: The Iveco! My favorite vehicle! Hehe, I got to ride in it with Hardy for the first part of the trip and it was nice to get to know the man ( I had never met him personally before) and as I am used to my vito it was also nice to be even higher!
That vehicle carried our whole camp! I quickly understood why we were limited in luggage!
It was also to prove dustproof for the whole trip!
Pic2: Long road ahead!
Pic3: Britstown, I did my matric in De Aar close to there and thoughts off my youth went through my head as we passed there.
Pic4: Our convoy at one off the rest stops
Pic5: Chantall and Diesel in the cruiser, that dog was just amazing! By Britstown my dog would have eaten up the seats and climbed out the window! Diesel just lay on his nice bed and chilled!
Pic6: There are some serious birdnests on the old telephone poles in the Northern Cape and South Namibia!

Interesting facts about those Social Weaver nests is that they are not only built for themselves but that they allow other birds to join their colony! So do they classify as hotels or communes? :ricky:
The SA pygmy falcon only nests on the weavers nests for its own!
Other finches etc also use them and even vultures, eagles and owls sometimes use the tops for their nests!

Pic1: Marydale area pitstop with Peter King in his own world! :patch:
Pic2: Upington with a lunch stop. Diesel in the shade and Hardy and Gordon solving the worlds problems! :peepwall:
Pic3: The border! Running behind scedule but going allright even though it seems that the rules are determined by who is on duty and what side of the bed he got out off, but it is Africa!
Pic4: We are in Namibië ( Karas district)
Pic 5: Our first sunset in Nam!

Not true - Oubones hi-jacked the Iveco and drove it like a pro. The fact that Oubones does have a Code 14 licence proved very useful, and I could see that he was no amateur behind the wheel. Thanks Hennie, I was dead tired and you really saved the day there.
I believe most people reading this thread has exactly the opposite idea of Oubones - like I had....
This guy has the general knowledge of an Oxford lecturer and the keen spirit of a prom night virgin.
He guided his trusty KLR through very rough terrain with the patience of a South African taxpayer and never complained about anything.
The world has taken more than it's fair share of shots at this guy, and he is still smiling - Much respect Old Man

Thank you for the kind words Hardy. :thumleft:

Ai manne sodra my been reg is... ek weet die thread is nie oor my nie maar sodra ek reg is!!!

Het jy darem afslag gekry toe jy Hardy se bestuurwerk vir hom moes doen OB? :peepwall: :lol8:

Lyk na 'n lekker rit, en jy het moer vêr gery om daar uit te kom.  :eek7:  Bly als het goed afgeloop. Ek lees lekker.

So ja beter as bietjie afslag!

Jou gelukkige man! 8)
