So Zerc, Zercs brother and I decided this morning to go back to the quarry, where we didn't want to play last weekend. Looked sandy, and Noobs like us didn't quite have the confidence last time...

So day started off fine. Played a bit on the easy sections, played a bit more. Had time to pose for pics!

And to catch up on some sleep while the others rode

Getting some good experience of soft sand, not quite so scary anymore!

So then we decided to try get up the hill that claimed so many casualties last weekend. Me first

It all started well, then things started to go a little pear-shaped!

And thats where it ended

So that's what experience is for :D :D :D

And now for the dismount. Score please, judges ??

Zercs brother tried a different route, sand even deeper there

He decided to go out the same way we came in. So did Zerc. But all the bikes got an opportunity to take a rest. Very Hot

Ended off the morning with a puncture, slime did the trick

But great fun, good experience at a nice slow speed!!
Next time hope we'll be able to play more with the not-so-noobs!!

Great fun, looks like you enjoyed it. Agree with you, only one way the get experience, earn it! :thumbright:

Good stuff!

Practising these type of skills is important.

Shark said a true thing last year after we did river bed at DeWild:

We don't do this type of riding because we are going to do it everyday, but because sometime on an extended trip, one might encounter similar conditions and then you have to be prepared.

Something in that regard.

Next time drop the tire pressure to about 1.2 bar front and rear, then feel the difference in handling in the sand.

Good on ya for doint the technical stuff.
