RR of our weekend of R&R on two RRs and a R...... and some rain & rivers..

The boys were keen for more, so we made our way towards the Kaapsehoop mountains via Snymansbult

Again, lots of standing water, mud and slippery clay

Bart was getting tired and conditions were getting worse on top of the mountain near Kaapsehoop, so the decision was made to head back home.

The descent from the mountain was treacherous to say the least. Hard clay with a green cover of “Sabie Sunlight” had the bikes sliding all over the place.

Unfortunately Henk and Bart both had offs within seconds of each other on a bad patch. Luckily neither was badly hurt and both bikes ok

We crossed the N4 at Alkmaar and then another trip across the Croc river

We were nearly home when another obstacle presented itself. Another fast flowing river across the road. This driffit is usually bone dry.
I walked it first and when it got hip height, I turned around as it was threatening to take me down....

Young man in the bakkie was kind enough to take us on a detour through their farm which dumped us back on our route about 500m from this spot.

Wow! That's a lot of water. You okes have some serious testicular weight riding the red snot along  mountain roads like that

Bart came over for a braai and entertained our dogs

Sunday morning Bart came over for a coffee before we got going again. Henk wasn't joining us again.

Wasn’t long before we came across some familiar obstacles

We adjusted our route again and rode towards Sabie

Savoury pancakes and a couple of coffees in Sabie before we head towards Misty Mountain

We were in awe of the amount of water coming out of the mountains

As we came closer to the mountain, the damage got worse. Water everywhere and no real options to ride up the mountain

We decided to play it safe and turned around to head back to Sabie
