Just a few things to add:

The climb up from our overnight camping spot to Blantyre was impressive that is starts at 81 meters above sea level to more than 1200 meters at Blantyre. within 50 odd kilometers.

Also the whole time riding on these roads, the concentration levels had to be high at all times as the cattle, goats and people roaming across the road is quite terrifying at some times, the usual 60 km/h in towns every 20 km's can also become quite irritating when you are pushing for a destination at the end of the day...

Blantyre is a beautiful city - one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. Most parts of the city are really clean and the people are generally very friendly, definitely a place to go visit in Africa.

Jis Plothond, jy maak my LUS vir ry! My laaste keer in Malawi was 2002, op 4 wiele - Wil nou op 2 gaan!

Groetnis

Meneer Plothond:  :notworthy:

(Dankie dat jy my hele oggend nou opgedonder het - ek wou werk!!!)

Plottie very nice. I did more or less the same in 2008. Swaziland, Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia and Botswana. We stayed at a very nice place in Vilankulos and had no bad experience anywhere on the trip.

Eish.

We have a plan for next year

Hey Plottie

When you gonna finish.. :ricky: :ricky: :ricky:

Hey chaps - my life is not mine at the moment

I'll have another day or two up later - Then I'm afraid you will have to wait a week as I'll be out of town

Cheers

Wow Plottie and other comrades !!! An awesome report and pics !!

It brings back a lot of good memories. I find it very informative as we are planning to do a very similar route in December. It is good to get an update on what is happening, e.g. the Sena bridge.

Awaiting the rest and again, well done.

Africa is GREAT !! Memories.... I see the officials at Nsanje border post are still using the same Bawa game !!
