Love those forest pics. It looks like a completely different continent

That was a stunning part of the ride.  And a bonus was that we did it slow enough to have time to properly look around.

Not only that, the downhill parts with the engine Off were so quiet that I could literally hear the pink elephants floating through the forest and pining for their fjords!
Oh wait no, that was when I nicked some of Henk's pille, sorry  :-[

Great ride report, ek lees lekker!

[emoji6]

Bart...no wonder I felt a bit dizzy...or was that from the T7's brutal acceleration and blood flowing to the back of my head!! [emoji85][emoji38][emoji38][emoji38]

Ja nee, daai pille mors met jou kop....

So, somewhere along the trip a leak was detected from the Husky's rightfront fork.

By the last day, riding from Tzaneen to Nelspruit, the bike could only be steered using the engine as the front would simply push.

Bartie Burp, in his heartwarming hospitable way, gave me and bike a lift to Pretoria in his wonderful V8 LandCruiser. Thanks a mill Bart!

In pretoria he took the Husky straight to Conrad at Runner Offroad cycles, and here the excellence started. Great work and service, friendly staff, and LOTS of stock.....enough to make a hungered-out

Capetonian drool like a Boerboel before feeding time.

Thanks Conrad, you have my Husqvarna sorted out well and I had an enjoyable and worry-free return trip.

The cracked, now broken top triple clamp pointed out by Conrad is definitely from my 2017 crash, at the time undetected by the bike shop that did the insurance assessment.

Got a price from Eddy2race today, R3900 incl., not too bad, and if I cannot get anything nice aftermarket for around the same, I will settle for the inferior original part. :pot:

Ja sien jy 2slag sefs jy kan kak koop, jy is ook maar net Mens :ricky:

Day 4 of the trip started out with a breakfast at Oppie Oewer and then a tar ride to Ofcalaco.

********, it was cracked when here, so you rode all the way South to CT with a wobbly .... worrying me to be honest.
And, let it be known that you did that in under two full days (you left here latish), Pta to CT - so Well Done boytjie, and you rather than me!  :thumleft:
And thankfully without incident, thanks for letting me know.

For the KTM haters amoungst here, a Husky is just a white orange one, so brush the lot into one heap and conclude with me that this brand is *****.
A broken triple plus a broken fuelpump, ignition and a leaking needle & seat of the SE is the grand total of indochina defects of this trip.... oh wait no, the 890's were trouble free, oopsie.
And, or rather but, Marc's SE was new2him for only 3 weeks prior, of which he, they actually, rode various stuff, the Ben10 part of that - not bad, just bad luck, after all a needle & seat IS a consumable!
Once Marc services his carbs, and perhaps also (he mentioned this) mounts a Rottweiler intake kit to eliminate his (fast clogging) paper filter he'll have a bike that will go there where he likes it most, rutty cobbly stuff, and can do multi-day trips again  :p
Call me weird but that's not bad I think... and YES, the T7 was trouble free, so use or abuse this fact in your armament  ;)

That may well be, but the gazillion subsequent wheelie landings (Dan has a habit of pulling loooong mongers, know it!) may just have contributed a liiiiiiitle bit also......  :p

So, how do we sum you up now Broe?
WD-stirrer, BM-despiser, Yammie-fan, 2stokeaddict, bike-monoer, ATGATTer, almost Iron-Butter, sometimes Orange-disliker, definitely IndoChina-hater....... maybe I'll just call you Dan from now on!
Mind you, a pity we didn't encounter some female Chinese tourists along those deserted paths in the forests...... would no doubt have been THE photo-opportunity of the year, "F[member=24163]CK[/member] the Chinese!"!  >:D

Bart with a “smoking partner”, not bad at his age

If only you knew Pel......  :lol8:
But thanks, I'll take that as a compliment!  :p

I saw the 890's suspension at work, and it is amazing.

I saw that too, and then I regretted my bike choice just a little.... until facing some dodgy ***** again, I even dropped it there!
Pity you don't carry a camera phone bru, you had a golden opportunity there - but now this mishap will remain between you & me!  :p
