I saw the 890's suspension at work, and it is amazing.

I saw that too, and then I regretted my bike choice just a little.... until facing some dodgy ***** again, I even dropped it there!
Pity you don't carry a camera phone bru, you had a golden opportunity there - but now this mishap will remain between you & me!  :p

The Rally is simply the most amazing bike I've ever owned or ridden, by a very long country mile. It is very unfair to compare it to anything else as I truly believe there is nothing quite like it on the market. The 890R would be closest rival obviously but even the very capable 240mm WP Explore suspension on the R comes nowhere close to competing with the 270 mm WP Pro suspension on the Rally.  My only problem with the bike is that at 1,79m my legs tend to be the weak link in this relationship and has seen the bike being dropped in slow stuff more times than I care to remember. It is a REALLY tall bike and add to that a bit of weight and the tendency to nap on rides is likely to continue......

We entered Lekgalameetsi through the main gate and our first stop was at a little waterfall while still on the tarred part of Orrie Baragwanath Pass. The little waterfall was almost a letdown after all the  beautiful waterfalls we had seen the previous day.

Day 4 was my favourite part of the trip. The plan for the day was based around the Orrie Baragwanath Side entry loop which I had only done once before. On that day we approached the loop coming from a rather hectic ride up Penge Pass. Link to RR  - https://wilddog.net.za/forum/index.php?topic=252182.0 By the time we entered the Side entry track, it was already late afternoon and our ride was fairly rushed as we had to make it to the main gate before they locked it. This time around , I was looking forward to riding it in the opposite direction and with enough time to take in the exceptional natural beauty in this part of Lekgalameetsi. I recall a few challenging bits on the route, but coming in from the West proved to be an easier ride, with the exception of the last bit through all the river crossings, which was in poor condition after the floods and proved quite tricky on the big bike in one or two spots.

The track was very overgrown in several places and I doubt it had seen much use since I was last there.
