I rode back a few kilometres and found Marc and Henk. The 950 SE was acting up....... the first KTM reliability banter shots were fired........
I was riding with Marc at the back of the group when it started spluttering.
Initial thoughts were that the SE was out of fuel, but we had hardly covered 80km since filling up.
I offered to tow the SE with the T7 the odd 30km to Lydenburg with my orange tow strap. Marc declined the offer, and taking the condition of the gravel road in consideration, it was a wise decision.
After Noneking arrived, I rode to the top of the mountain to obtain cellphone reception, and phone around for assistance.
Johan Janse van Rensburg, a fellow adventure rider in Lydenburg, responded without hesitation. He only had to finish a meeting, and would then be on his way.
I accompanied them, as to lead us to Tonteldoos after repairing the SE.
Johan stays on a smallholding on the outskirts of Lydenburg.
He has a huge man cave cum workshop, and we were greeted by two 990Rs, two 950SEs, and a KTM 300.
His workshop is well equipped with amongst others a pneumatic bike lift and complete Würth tool trolley.
Johan is an accomplished Amageza racer, bike mechanic, pilot and businessman.
We enjoyed a cappuccino while Johan, with Marc's assistance, trouble shooted the SE.
He had a new fuel pump available, but the ignition switch turned out to be the culprit.
A push switch was fitted by Johan, and off we went.
Thank you Johan, you're a real friend.
@Noneking
Marc has a video clip of Johan's place. See if you can post it. [emoji6]
