A couple of months ago [member=7804]Amsterdam[/member] mentioned that he would like to come ride in the Lowveld on a  ride report I did about a Tonteldoos ride. He was already doing [member=19655]WildWood[/member] 's Ben 10 trip with Marc towards middle April and the stars aligned for us to organise a 5 day trip in our area at the end of April. [member=10935]BuRP[/member] and [member=8876]2StrokeDan[/member]  were soon on board for the trip and it didn't take much to get a yes from [member=5599]chopperpilot[/member] who lives just around the corner from me.

I've never seen so many spectacles, contact lenses and medication on a ride........ >:D

First order of business was to start a WhatsApp group to communicate information about the trip to all participants. This was obviously a challenge as [member=8876]2StrokeDan[/member] still faxes his posts to Wild Dog Headquarters  :ricky:
I started looking at easy scenic routes around our area as half of our participants are over sixty and the other two well on their way there. My mom would be very upset that I wasn't addressing these gents as "Oom" or "Uncle".  Amsterdam soon made it clear that they would prefer a route that is of a more technical nature. With accommodation and route planning in place, I eagerly awaited everyone's arrival in the Lowveld at the end of April.

[member=7804]Amsterdam[/member] and Marc made their way to Nelspruit after riding Ben 10 and a bit of Lesotho in the weeks leading up to our tour.

[member=8876]2StrokeDan[/member] braved the elements on his 701 all the way from Stellenbosch, delivering some blue Crocs in Prieska on his way to the Lowveld. :peepwall:

On the night before our departure, everyone came to my house for an overdose of red meat.

The next morning we met up at a local filling station to start our journey. Some of us opted for a garage pie breakfast and some last minute repairs/adjustments  ;)

Me neither, and due to public humiliation I took my Ritalin & Viagra when I was private - meaning either on a throne somewhere or under a blanket  :p

Swaerie, something didn't go well with your Dad but don't worry please !
He's here in Pretoria now, very much alive & kicking, making his trademark sarcastic jokes which I've learnt to enjoy, bleddie marvellous  :lol8:
Oh, at the mo he's monitoring the sticky-stanchion operation of his 701 at Offroad Cycles here in Koedoespoort, [member=614]Runner[/member] 's shop, Conrad doing his usual best to get him on  the road soonest again  :thumleft:
We'll go out tonight to show his some proper Boere hospitality  :p

You should show him proper way out of gauteng. My suggestion is bots fence ride in reverse - can send you the gps track. And i can suggest nice juicy route for him from ramatlabama to ct, so that he stops wasting time in boring karoo 🤪

Please send me the routes?
And thank you: I'll ask him later today if he wants to, no plans yet I think... and it will depend on the progress made on his forks I reckon  :thumleft:
