Weather conditions meant we rode up into the clouds to Serala and had virtually zero visibility. A real shame as this is probably one of the most beautiful parts of our trip

Encountering officials who weren’t at the gate when we entered the reserve, but now demanded cash. Gerrit refusing to give in....

We were at the bottom of the valley and to get to the Iron Crown, the highest point in Limpopo, we first have go up a relentless rocky climb aptly named the Rocky Horror by Gerrit.

This steep climb with switch backs and millions of baby heads, makes it’s way up the side of the mountain for 6 odd kilometres. At no point does it give you a break or a smooth patch to regroup. The 890 Rally shines in this terrain and even more so if you hammer it![emoji48][emoji48][emoji48]

While everyone caught their breath and shook their numb hands at the top of the climb, the decision was made not to go up to Iron Crown as it would be a waste with zero visibility. We decided to head for Heanertsburg to have lunch.

Going down the other side of the mountain, it feels like a different planet with a completely different landscape than the one we encountered just a minute ago. Riding Hotdog with Henk, we had huge fun sliding into and out of the relentless sweeping bends going down the mountain.

After lunch things got more laid back and we had a beautiful scenic ride towards Oppie Oppie Oewer
