My GS fell over after a car ran into it at slow speed. One of the damages was a crack in the triple clamp...a R6500 item that had to be imported from Germany. It took way too long since BMW in Germany also didn't have stock! So I opted for second hand ACME item for R2500. This morning I spotted a crack in the same Place. I didn't see a crack when it was fitted. So...possible there is some stress somewhere causing the stress fracture due too the fall over. OR, is this a well known weak spot?
This is an issue as I don't think the insurance will help out this time. I signed some sort of a form.
Last question, is it OK if I ride like this? What's the worse that can happen?
