tyer pressure

I have just replaced my Kawasaki KLE with a KLR. and am a little concerned with the recommended Tyre pressure, which is 1.5 front and rear. I only weigh 71kg, But on dirt I get the feeling that the rear Tyre is a little soft, and I am worried about getting a snake bite, The KLE which is +- 5kg heaver, has a recommended rear Tyre pressure is 2.25. can any of you KLR boffins help me
