OK, on a slightly different note...

I had to leave early Saturday morning for work commitments and I had the car there.

When I got to the car ready to leave... Flat tyre...

OK no problem, gooi the spare on quickly and race back to Cape Town.

Funny enough, I dont see any protrusions or puncture marks on the flat tyre...

Just got back from Speedy... Tyre is fine... Just the valve was loosened...

:thefinger: :thefinger: :thefinger:

OK, murrafukkas... Own up...

Whodunnit?

Possible...but i'd be very surprised if the guys did that :( You dont screw with another blokes car or bike like that
A valve can come loose by itself?

Sheesh, anything was possible on Friday night (I might have done it myself even...)  :drunken_smilie:

Im not stressed about it...

It was actually a clever ploy to make me stay...

Which I thwarted, muuuuhahahahahaha!!!!!

And it was the 1st flat Ive ever had on that car.

So it was good to figure out how to work the BMW jack and stuff, pretty nifty...

Looks like you guys had a great trip. Jacko, Art, Dave (with a gun - AKA headbutt the log instead of jumping over it) and I were on our way to join you guys for Breakfast when we ran into some trouble.

Art, leading on his 950SE along the railwayline to Malmesbury, must have lost a contact lens. By the time we caught up with him he was crawling around on the ground making strange noises with the bike still running on its side in the bushes! :-[ I think he found his lens about 20 meters further judging by the way he dived off the bike enthuisiasically.  :xxbah:

By the time we got the bike sorted on our way again, you guys must have been having a blast, so there was no point in continuing... Next time we'll be there. We will come by tar road  :pot:

Brings up something else.....

Anyone have quantities on the makes represented?

And which ones were forced to return by trailer?  :pot:

May I suggest categorising by Mechanical Failure or Operator Error (as in our case). :pot:

Well, I burnt out a clutch. It was my fault - I got stuck in a hole. - Operator Error!

When trying to extricate my bike, a 2.5 ton breaking strain seatbelt broke, and only worked when doubled up - thats 5 tonnes!  ....... pretty amazing what mud can do. A clutch had no chance  :'(

A 640 blew its rocker out the top - bad luck mate  :'(  - sadly - mechanical failure

The rest were trailered home cos the owners were soft and didnt want to ride home - Hondas, Bm's and Katooms

What a gr8 weekend! What super people! It was fantastic to have you guys & gals here. Was so worried when our GM said that he saw a group of WD's pass Piketberg on Sunday afternoon and within 15 mins therafter saw the rescue chopper land on the N7. Wasn't a bike.

Super, everyone, and thanks! J & M and staff

I stick to my original remark. There was only one bike that broke down the whole weekend.

Die ander een is stukkend gery

The other holdup was an aftermarket exhaust on a Honda, and that was fixed with wire and a Leatherman. No intact fence was harmed and it could still proceed. I think it had snorked itself stukkend.

The enthusiasm and fun that was had on KTM's was second to none.
I am used to riding in groups that are dominated by other makes. The people I met on this weekend were all great, as far as riding goes and socially. Whatever they ride.

Working on the pics, I do not want to bore you with all 636 boring shots. Takes time selecting, optimizing, posting. And I had to work my butt off the last two days.

Thankx for a wonderful weekend!

Really enjoyed it, thanks to the hosts and everybody that was there.

1) Vodacom 3G sucks if you live on the outer edge of civilization.
2) If you are of a serious disposition skip to the next reply.

Boogy night. When good friends and new aquaintences get together the first evening is bound to be a rough one.

Lito explains the finer points of suspension setup. PP verifies the settings.

Fabulous venue. But WTF is PP scheming?

AntonW left, GoGirl on the right and a kakstorie in the middle. On the shelf is neither roosterkoek nor platbrode, it is apparently something that BMW's need in a campsite.

Some touchy-touchy/feely-feely that was beyond my understanding:

Mood shot of the venue. This is more or less where the ceiling started to become skew:

Oke on the left is familiar. The one on the right was dragged along when his bike had a hiccup.

In case there was any doubt, some Jaeggiebombs were had:

The pool area at night. Imagine a hot summer's night.........

And it was up to me to put all the dogs to bed. Last man standing. As has become the norm. That's why they make me take the pictures.

But don't discount the locals (camera skills slightly impaired at this moment):

So it was off to bed, next installment shortly.
