So I crashed the Dakar and insurance wrote it off. Need a replacement, and I believe in never buying the same model twice, so another Dakar or F/G650GS is out.
My sights are currently set on a Yamaha XT660Z Tenere, but my budget is around R60,000 (incl. crashbars, bash plate, etc.) and most Tenere's I see on Gumtree are over that(?).
At sub-R60,000 I'm probably looking at anything that catches my eye from the following list:
Yamaha XT660Z Tenere
BMW XChallenge
Yamaha XT660R
Honda Transalp 650 or 700
Kawasaki KLR 650
BMW R1150GS?
At some stage I really wanted to move to an "adventurised" BMW XChallenge (Touratech tank + better seat), but I now have an eager pillion, so that one is probably out. Realistically, the 1150 is too big and heavy for me, but I see such nice ones on Gumtree, and it's very pillion friendly :biggrin:
