While we were at The Jupiter, we met a young farmer, who's father owns the land adjacent to Ouberg Pass. He told us about the extent of the flood damage that was caused to the road. All the repairs that we encountered was done by his father out of his own pocket because if he did not do it, the road would have been impassible by now.

They were thinking of putting a donation bucket at the start of the pass so that people, who use the pass, could contribute to paying the cost of the repairs.

There were some berms across the road that resulted in airborne bikes. The uncompacted areas resulted in some interesting riding.

Time to get out of the Ouberg Pass and into the Tankwa. The roads are as if they were made just for us. You can see for miles, the roadside is clear, gravel highway that entices you along and before you know it,....................you are seriously cruising. Whoopee stuff!!!!

Blaas daai pype skoon.                      :ricky:

When we stop, it is like an animated discussion between two kids who discovered a new play park ride. But, seriously, it is an amazing ride with subtle changes in the scenery happening all the time.

Really beautiful country.

Our stop at this Tankwa intersection is once again an opportunity for us to marvel at the absolute excellence of this ride. It is truly a beautiful and diverse country that we live in.

Note the BMW wannabe KTM sticker. Shame................ :3some:

Just kidding, don't want to start a brand controversy here.  :thumleft:    It could be the best of both worlds.

It really looks like a set from some American redneck prairie movie. You can just about hear the creaking sign as it sways in the breeze as the tumbleweeds roll past.

Tankwa Padstal is an interesting place with an interesting mix of people and unusual objects. It is obviously an adventure biker's must-stop-at-place.
