I was a Coxswain for the NSRI for many years. I used to skipper their flagship "The Jack Riley" and eventually ended up as the deputy station commander of Gordons Bay rescue base. But alas the ole ticker conked out and I had to retire on medical grounds ....still miss it  :'(

But yea ....that's where my forum name comes from , and yes I know it is spelt incorrectly , but I use it on another forum where there is a CoxSwain.

Respect, I get the monthly Mag from the NSRI and enjoy reading about the heroics of you and your Men.

I have an old friend who now lives in the USA.  Mark Strachan. I think his dad was the commodore in Gordons Bay?
Ian, I think was his name.

Yep...I know Ian very well, He was the regional director.

Can't wait for the 16th March - life is far too short  :spitcoffee:  :sip:  :thumleft:

Well done bud, real heart warming, that's what life is all about, bury the hatchet and move on, so little time, way too precious to waste.

Looking forward to this reunion!
