An Eitchpee's swingarm on a 1200 GS??

I am NOT planning on this but is just wondering, if youd be able to fit the slightly longer swingarm of a HP2? Apart from the poopscoop that wouldn't fit and I guess the numberplate bracket also, would it work?

If so, would you be able to fit a better shock at the back and would the longer travel of the backwheel contribute to a better ride?
