This sounds like the route Die Malletjie 's done with 3 different groups of fully laden BMW 's, mostly 1200's . The one section is apparently very steep , very loose , and very rutted.  Respect to you guys, its apparantly not an easy route  :thumleft: Hope you guys have pics of the difficult sections , as I have always been curious to see the route and "one day " to also ride it  ;)

To be honest I hear that route is so hard that one can't stop and take photos , so it may remain a urban legend to the rest of us  :imaposer:

I've got most of the trip on video. I'm going to fill in with video clips as RS goes along. I know he's very busy at this stage but I'm sure he'll get something on computer ASAP. Here's a clip leaving from Paradise beach toward Humansdorp.

So much for the side entry attempt ... more like missionary work ... definately need some Catholic patience  :imaposer:

You are one funny man  :imaposer: :imaposer:

Sorry guys , not my intention to drag it out. Deleted the photos I was busy with as I was doing a few jobs at once, missionary position not being one of them.

I didn't have the patience to reload them but will do so tonight.

'reloading' hmmm ... sounds like a maunual job then ... or should I say hand job?

Ya we also went over the 4x4 route on 950's (not bad at all) and then tried that track over the other side. Navigator got 3/4 way up and then it was too much. I went 1/4 way and decided it wasn't worth it. It's def. a platics track.

The farmer at the bottom of the zig zag told us that they really enjoyed watching the adventure bikes come tumbling down.  Apparently there is enough spare parts of KTM and BMW motorcycles in his shed to build the perfect all rounder.  I am not the world's best rider, but there are 90 degree steps of about a meter high plus very deep ruts.  I managed to end up, at speed, in one of the ruts.  This resulted in a bended rear sub frame.  Cecil Penny will have a look at it this week.  In our group were experienced riders on a KTM 525, KTM 300 and a KDX 200 and myself on a KTM 450.  It took us the best part of 20 minutes working very hard to get to the top.  The down hill section is not that difficult.

This track is not made for adventure bikes.

Also the language used by the farmer, his daughter and the rest of the family is a very different dialek of Afrikaans, even my knowledge of "seetaal" was insufficient to really understand them.

Myself and G4C 's plan was to leave early on the Friday morning, have a leisurly breakfast at Jefferies bay , take in the sights of the Churchill dam then meet J-Mo and Dirt Dix at Kareedouw .

As we know the making a plan is always the easiest part, keeping it is another story.

We ended up only leaving after 10h30 so the early breakfast was now going to be called a late brunch. As we were only meeting up with the other guys later we decided to take the scenic route to Jefferies Bay over the Gamtoos.

And on to our breakfast at a Jefferies beachfront, a nice little place called Cafe Kima ( Doesn't kima mean germ in Afrikaans, will have to ask the wife)

We couldn't get hold of the other guys and when we finally did it seemed that they were only 45min behind us and had already reached Humansdorp. After a quick site seeing in the metropolis of Humansdorp they decided to join us for an early lunch.

After lunch we decided to head to Churchill dam via Paradise Beach and our own free game drive.

Sable antelope at Lombardini on the road between Paradise beach and Humansdorp.

This road would be very flat and boring if it wasnt for the game viewing on route.Game spotted : rhino, Eland, Sable, Letchwe and Blesbok.
