Looks like we can go ahead with the planning then if everybody is happy with a overnight (Camping) at Baviaans Lodge.

I suppose there's going to be a limited amount of riders as the Landy can take only so much kit. Let's see who else is interested and then move on to the planning phase.

Hey J-mo did you find out who that fast dog on the 800 was? I assume it is the same yella 800 that passed me with the speed of white light just past Thornhill at about 11h00 on Saturday. I was cruising at a 100km/h when that yella bike with the "poot on his doos" flew by me :)

Hey Vellies, it was Wolweseun that went past me. I was doing about 120km/hr. The new tyres felt awkward, so I did not want to go fast while it settled in. I usually cruise about 130km/h - 140km/h. Wolweseun came in behind me and stayed there for about 20 seconds, passed me while greeting and off he went. Must say that Rotax sounded soooo smooth.  :thumleft:

I've done this route twice, once from inside the kloof and once from outside the kloof.

From inside the kloof Rooihoek cam site it takes a full day to get to Kareedouw.
From PE, over the trail to Willowmore seemd shorter.

I don't have a GPS so I would not easily have managed to find the entrance from the Kareedouw side without having come from inside the Kloof once before. As it was I took a wrong turn on that first trip. What I'm saying here is that if you don't have GPS and coordinates it's best to try the trail from Rus en Vrede inside the kloof. Also be aware that the trail crosses two farms. I believe there is a separate fee to be paid to both farms. I've only ever managed to pay at Rus en Vrede, there is no sign of any place to pay on the Kareedouw side.
