We have been riding in the Richtersveld for many years on adv bikes but never on the plastics. So this time we took the 500's and went on a 5 day recce ride. The idea was to hunt for undiscovered and interesting (I call them "jewels") tracks and paths and boy did we find the most amazing riding.

I am gonna start doing guided trips in the Richtersveld and this recce trip proved extremely successful.
The riding is a combination of dry riverbeds and some open flowing sections most of them in proper sandy sections with the occasional lekker semi technical thrown in just to keep us on our toes.
This is a photo report.

DR BIG 750 The Richtersveld is in the Northern Cape against the border with Namibia.

The end of the clip looks like the entrance to the "Road to Hell" ??
Maverick64,  I am glad you brought it up, yes it is the "Road to Hell pass" and it will be part of the guided trip. As you know there are a lot of hype around this pass and it is on many riders bucket list but to be honest we have discovered much much better and more interesting paths and tracks than "the hell pass".
This area is truly amazing and offer the most awesome riding, I am extremely excited about the trips we gonna do here. :thumleft:

I see you managed to upload your trip from [member=1090]JustBendIt[/member] satellite Wi-Fi hotspot.

And, did you only come out of the RTH?

It's true ...we did install a Wi-Fi hotspot at the summit of RTH ...it works perfectly

Hi Andrew,  it is possible to ride next to the river in a (southerly direction) from RTH riverside to the next gorge. As a matter of fact there is actually a very old jeep track there (extremely washed away) . The "problem" however is that it is extremely rocky and most definitely not enjoyable so I have decided not to include it in my guided trips.
The "RTH" will be part of the trips (simply because it is on many riders bucket list) but it will be an in an out.

In that area there are other much much better, more interesting and way more enjoyable paths and tracks (read with a few lekke semi technical sections)

Dankie BuRP, ek laat weet jou :thumleft:

Losper, net n vra, jammer as dit hiri fred biki hijack...

Ek vra, sal graag jou mening hoor hieromtrent!  :thumleft:
