That was a great adventure... From day 1 odo picture on July 26 to end of trip November 2 a total of 4560.4 kilometers have passed.
Will be doing some checks on the bike soon and will wind up the thread with the findings...

OK... front caliper pin drilled out successfully and the pistons look like crap too... so front brake rebuild in progress.

RobC, just finished reading your RR. We nearly made it hopefully next year with better planning and favor might just make it.
Thanks for the step by step bike readiness guide. Love it. Travelling huge distances needs proper prepping. I have a question concerning those
silver bullet shaped canisters. Where do you find them and how do work ? Seems very strong.

Those are pasta cans Checkers had on special years ago. Nice stainless steel. Lasting better than the pvc pipe type I had previously.

I used 110mm hd stainless hose clamps to make the mounting. The back one the lid is clamped by the hose clamp. Front one has latches with clips.

And I finally wore out my 2008 Prorider gloves... they are sacred holy gloves now... ;-)
Time for some Tankwa's. Time to test them out on another solo?
