I have had my 2003 1150 for a couple of days now and as its raining here I only managed to drain one tankful over the weekend and take it for roadworthy and registration yesterday. RW was a breeze.
I am working my way through this board but have some questions already.
I checked the oil and it was overfilled. Is there an easy wat too drain some? How much if the sight glass as about 2mm from full? The bike uses oil maybe I can just leave it?
Then I found that the clutch lever feels loose. As if the pivot point, if it is a bolt, needs tightening. Where do I find the bolt to see what the problem is.
There are some rusted bolts on the bike eg brake disk bolts - can they be plated? - eg home nickle plating? - or is it better to replace? Should I get the proper ones or is it better to replace with ss ones that takes normal allen keys? Is there perhaps a kit one can buy?
My exhaust is also badly rusted. What can be done about this?
