a Couple of things that I won't forget in a hurry

Day 1

Canzius's bokspring as he finally got his Husky to growl, as they left Usakos to start the trip.
Dwerg's bike that decided it wants to fall on both sides as he stopped at Spitzkoppe
PK's expression on his face, as he looked onto Spitzkoppe - I believe the word that slipped out was "****"
The pic Willie took of the camp under the stars - priceless.

Day 2

Chasing down PK as he got die moer in with himself. Pete does not tollerate punctures from himself, and almost killed the DR, trying to catch up with his mates. I tailed him, hoping to be able to tell him to take it easy. I eventually caught him, and enjoyed 30 minutes of blissful sweeps doing it.
Trevor and Hannes's cuppacino that I never tasted
Hennie's dry sense of humour.

Day 3

The Cheetah that crossed the road - This place always surprises me.
Barry's disappointment in his face, when he had a bad off, and realized he had to pack it in for a few days.
The cold drinks at Khuwarib
Steff eventually riding faster than 100kph on the road to Opuwo.
The Captain Morgan at Opuwo Country Lodge - Always a winner.
Canzius and Dwerg attempting to outfox the mosquitoes at the campsite.

This is Alex.

Alex's grandfather runs the petrol station in Uis. Alexander hangs around the station all day, playing with broken toys and riding a small bike that has seen better days. On our way north 10 days ago, I pushed him around on his bike (missing my own kids) and sat around chatting to him about his siblings. We spent quite a bit of time there waiting for the group and then fixing Pete's flat. Alex was searching for insects to come and show me and  I remember his grandfather shouting at him :" Alex, jy tel nie f@kken gevaarlike goggas op nie, ek bliksem vir jou!"

On our arrival on this last day, he was very excited to see me ( I promised I would be back in 10 days). Alex was only wearing a pair of shorts and clung on to me like a little monkey.

Day 4

Steff' and Canzius's high five
The monkey apple that crashed into my ear
Janco's crash on Heartbreak Hill
The absolute phenomenal ride to VZ Camp.

I said my goodbyes to Alex and we started on the 130 odd kms to Usakos. I kept myself busy with a few attempts at testing out the Husky's top end speed, but chickened out on each occasion..... :snorting: :snorting:

And then, as if it never happened, it was all over....... We hit the first bit of tar we'd  seen for nearly 2 weeks and it all sunk in.

Day 5

Steff's stuttering as we headed into Van Zyl's Pass
Steff's confidence growing as we continued through the pass.
PK's skills that quadrupled as he enters the Marienfluss.
Canzius's surprised look on his face as the Himba women got ready to bill him for the sneaky pic he took.
Shane's determination after Rooidrom, after he had several offs. His bike would have broken anyone's spirit - not Shane's.

We stopped at a restaurant next to a filling station and had a double thick milkshake, something I never do........
Even Dwerg had one instead of a beer!

I didn't realise that this photo was being taken and only saw it a few days ago when [member=18545]Ri[/member] uploaded it to our shared Google Photo album.

I remember being overwhelmed with emotion as I rode up to the gate, knowing that it was now all over. My eyes teared up and I couldn't believe that it all went so quickly..........

This was riding wise my favourite day. There was a short section of gravel road before Doros reserve, the rest was jeep track, rocks, river bed and sand. A tough but rewarding day and one of the best days I’ve had on a bike in my life

Jy bedoel jy’t actually dié dag gesmile?  Die dag wat toe uit daglig uit hardloop voor dit op kamera vasgevang kon word?

;)

Eks nie (altyd) so knorrig soos ek lyk nie ek belowe [emoji23]

Die dae wat die 450 geloop het en ek en Noneking so bietjie soos hooligans gery het het ek darem so een of twee smiles gegooi
