Although this ride was a while ago (September 2009), I only manage to do all the sorting of the photos etc recently. 

It was that time of the year again – my mother’s birthday and the 4 brothers all went to Cradock for the annual "get together".  They came from Cape Town, Kimberley & Pretoria with all the kids and extended families.

Milly and I decided to do our first “long trip” with the bike and instead of leaving East London, going straight to Cradock, we went up to Queenstown, Sterkstroom, Molteno, Steynsburg, Hofmeyr and then Cradock – all tar as I was not so confidant on gravel at that stage – not that I’m an expert now  :eek:  The route back from Cradock would be to Nanaga, Port Alfred and then to East London. 

That is our own “LONG WAY ROUND”.  Many more to come.

The annual "Fish River Canoe Marathon was due the next week-end.  Many moons ago I did a few myself.  Good old days.

The Friday morning my brother's son and I decided that we want to explore the area north of Cradock - i.e. Baroda & Fish River.  Road towards Baroda.

Cradock weir.  If you are not from the Eastern Cape and you're doing the "Fish" then you "shoot" the weir - just for that photo  :pot:  I lost a few canoe's there.
 
DAY 2

Today all the brothers will follow and the ladies went to do some shopping and tea drinking . . . .

I contacted a friend, Antonie (from Cradock) and asked if he wants to join us as we want to do the Swaershoek area - between Cradock, Pearston and Somerset East.  Needless to say - he jumped for the opportunity.
