Red light on dash not coming on - Bike not starting

Any ideas for me on this one?

last rode the bike and all was well.
washed and placed under its cover
tried to start her and it just swings over but does not catch.
have noticed that one of the red dash lights does not come on before starting thou.
did replace the small replay near the neck the other day as none of my lights was working.
can hear the fuel pump running when the ignition goes on.

a little confused, any ideas please?
