I rode accross the railway bridge that spans the Knysna lagoon a long time ago on a mountain bike.  Similar thing - two planks bolted to the cross members with nothing but open air around them - the gap (about a meter ?) was big enough both sides to fall off into the lagoon below.  They had a single hand rail well out to the side.

I was quite happy until about half way when I looked down and realised that one slip and I would be swimming.  I wobbled to a stop and then pushed from there on.

Wobbling to a stop while trying to reach the hand rail and not slip off the side was quite hair raising.

When I was last there I see they have enclosed the foot path in expanded metal so it would be much easier now.

Daars  n kannon bo op Heuningberg en n 4x4 route tot op die berg , maar blybaar is die boer nie te vriendlik nie.
Ek en Crossed-up het  na  daardie brug toe gery n paar jaar terug .
Maar ek het nie gedunk daar was n kans dat n mense kan ddar oor gery het.

Verder af in die pad was daar 20 jaar terug n lae water brug oor die Berg rivier, oorkant "Bridgetown" maar ek kon dit nie vind nie.

Jy kan by die plaas Dasdrif ook deur die rivier gaan as die rivier nie te veel water in het nie daar is klippe gepak wat 'n soort van laagwater bruggie vorm. Sal dit nie aanbeveel vir wintermaande nie!
