EC Bash 2010
Herewith my contribution to the posterity of this illustrious event…
No pics of the ride from PE… only 100km and I had to leave late in the afternoon, so I got to the bash at 6:30. Found a spot and erected the sarcophagus..
(Actually, this little tent is quite roomy inside – certainly all my stuff can fit alongside a fairly wide inflatable mattress.)
The venue… superb grassy camping area, under trees, inbetween the shrubs.. very nice.
We took a ride down to the coast, through the Addo Elephant Park Woody Cape Section. This is a super dirt road above the coast between Bushmans and Sundays rivers. Some call it the Milk Run, because of all the dairy farms in the area. (But the real Milk Run is from Boschhoek to Kinklebos, past all the Clover Farms. We came home along that road, but took no photos… ??? )
Mr T, Nemodakar, Slowpoke and me…
Then some WC durgs came along, tails wagging..
Led by the one and only Bradleys..
I do eat vegetables, because cows eat vegetables…
The road home was very lekker… Watty, me and the EasyRiders took the farm route past the Aardbol,
…and down to Congoskraal to Kinkelbos. From there, the two lovebirds scooted up to Ncanara Farm Stall (no prizes for guessing why..) and the Old Man and I headed back to PE.
An afternoon of soccer and post-lunch sleepy syndrome accounted for the rest of the day.
Mooi skoot Watty. Thanks for all the effort you put into this Bash… again.
(I had a lot to say on Sunday morning to the friend of the Revver.. who should have known better than to defend his mates antics, and try to justify his actions. But, you see, I was the guy who had the DR600 virtually ride over me, as the *
fill in the appropriate word * took his 1am mini-enduro prize-winning epic adventure-ride-of-a-lifetime through the tents. What the rider did not realize (because what can you possibly realize after a few solid hours of carefully storing away litres of precious liquid) is that the right hand turn on the sodden dewy grass might not have been successfully negotiated and it would have been
moi who would have caught a face full of steel and rubber.
So, the dear friend-of-award-winning-revver believes most fervently that because nothing bad happened, all is good… and proceeded to tell me that perhaps I am too old for this sort of thing…
Huh!
No, twit! You are too young.. and irresponsible, to be out alone.
Pity Mister Charley Boorman Wannabee had to sleep late… he should have gotten the earful, not his hapless friend.)
But, tis a small and insignificant part of the proceedings, and life continues. Let us not mar the RR by referring to this incident again.. OK :thumleft:
