This follows on from my yesterday "what carb" question.

I'm doing a quick clean and rebuild of than Mikuni VM34-type carb, stock on early XT500 / TT500 / SR500's - just need some advice if anyone can help.

On the left side of the carb there's that 'hot start' button and also the idle speed adjustment screw. I messed with that screw and can't remember original settings. I know from experience that this can make the bike a lot harder to start, if position is wrong.
- First pic shows the screw that I'm talking about - its the one you turn by hand for idle speed.
- Second pic shows the slide position with the idle adjuster screw fully down - no gap in slide (this is viewing the engine side, not air intake side).
- Third pic is with idle adjuster screw fully up - big gap below slide.

Any advice on where to position this for initial startup? Maybe half way between the full down and full up?
