Dawie ran towards me to help, but also stepped into a hole and fell - almost on-top of me and the bike ...  ::) I was "p*ssing myself with laughter ..." ::) ::)

Now I know why the water was so warm  :eek7: It was a hell of an adventure.  :deal: Nice to relive it again. Must say it now sounds much easier than it was... :thumleft:

Thx for the interest and comments guys - makes writing a RR worthwhile !  ;) :thumleft:

So we managed to wrestle the 1200 through the clay, and Werner went through the drift without further ado ...
As you would have gathered by now - we never reached Uitspan nor the Baviaans, but were we glad to see a dozen or more friendly bike faces at Willowmore Hotel, actually different riding groups filled up that Hotel to the brim !!!  :patch:
We were on our way to Uitspan; the biggest group were on their way to Klipplaat Hotel, and 2 Old Toppies  ::) were on their way back to George after a week long trip through the country, but destiny and the welcome weather forced everybody together at Willowmore Hotel !!!

Boy, was it a party, the stories, the factual talks  ::) ::) ::), sleeping with 3 other snorers in one room - damn now that was survival !!! :eek7: :eek7: :patch:
It looked more like a Laundry, than a Hotel !!! Everywhere where just wet boots and clothes....  :lol8: :lol8:
People walked around in funny looking clothes - anything that was just a bit dryer ...  ::)

We got a room for Werner (our patient) a.s.a.p. alone ... Later we took him food, pain killers and 2 double whiskeys!!! He was fine!!! Thank heavens !!!

Ok, if I tell you I slept well, I will really be lying!!! But it wasn't the Hotel's fault !!!  :peepwall:
Next morning most guys had to do some repairs ...  ::) ::)
Some took coffee, some beer again !!!
Some had to service their Super Tenere - they say white oil is not good ...  ???
About ten guys stripped and fixed the dead Dakar - eventually ...  :pot:
We found a place below a Boxer engine where you can fasten a loose bash plate with a few cable ties, and we strapped-up a "loosing" tail and so on ...
I had a loose left mirror and headlight ... to fasten ... and of course bone dry chains were everywhere to find ...  8) ... and a flat tyre or 2 or 3 ....

Plan was that I leave early with the 2 Old Toppies to fetch my "bakkie" - and return to load the almost wrecked 1200 and our patient ...
But he refused and said he was fine ...  ???
Ai, we should have done that ...  :'( :peepwall:

Well our group of 3 left last, but at least we had a great breakfast!!!  :thumleft: We couldn't re-fuel, the power was down when we wanted to leave !!!
The last time I re-fuelled was in George on Friday - so I was a bit concerned ...  :-\

nice RR :thumleft: - sjoe, maar ek dink so trippie sal my te moeg maak  ;)

So we left Willowmore with rather empty tanks, me in front, the battered not-road legal anymore 1200 in the middle and Dawie sweeping ...
I stayed on a conservative 110km/h. I stopped briefly after about 10k's to ask Werner if the speed was ok, he replied we can go 120 ... ok, so his speedo was still working ...  ::)
After another 5k's or so we passed the "Vaalwater" turn-off to Baviaans, and just a bit after that was a Stop/Go roadwork's thing ...
But as I was approaching the Stop sign, I noticed that I was alone now - nobody behind me anymore ...  ???

So I turned around - found the other 2 next to the road just around the corner near the "Vaalwater" turn-off... Stopped - Werner: " She's dead, red light came on, lost power and motor died!!!" So we finally realized - this is it - you remember that stuttering and spluttering at that certain drift on Sat - she obviously suck water and in the chaos nobody really took notice of it ...  :'(  We checked the oil-level window - yes, it was all white ...  :'(

Werner first tried to phone a friend - not available!!
So we decided - I'll tow the now completely "wrecked 1200" to the nearest farm house. We leave it there, then I pillion him back to George to fetch a recovery vehicle...
I towed him - through a bloody steep drift too, again, on the way to the farm house!!!
Nobody was home, but dogs and vehicles everywhere ...
No, we didn't had pen nor paper - so we wrote a message in the mud for the people ...  I shifted my luggage to the rear, Werner got on, and there we went - mission to reach George now !!!
Well, we made Uniondale - they put 23,29 litres in my bike's 24 l tank after 446km !!!

:thumleft: - Absoluut Jakkals!!

Water was te diep - onthou hy't 'n ander lyn gevat as die res - sulke driwwe waar mens nie kan sien is d se b se bedrieglik - vra my !!!  :-[

So we sat down and rest a while in Uniondale, while I was having a dry smoke  ::) ...
a Funny character - living in the Baviaans, showed up with a classic Suzuki 200 2 smoke - complete with 2nd World War outfit ...  :imaposer: ::) - on his way back to Baviaans from PE !!!  Bugger, and we are struggling with our modern equipment !!!

Now you would not belief this!!!  :peepwall: :pot:

70k's before George - another bloody bloody bloody flat rear !!! F%ck !!!
We patched it, into tyre - pump to pop-out, o shyte, I forgot to screw in the valve!!!  :xxbah:
Ok, compressor off, all air out, valve in ...
Now it won't pick up pressure!!!
Tyre off, tube out, patch came off ...
So we fitted Dawie's double patched 18inch tube from Saturday morning coming out of the Hell into my 17inch rear!!! I prayed for 70k's - belief me - and it is still perfect!!!  :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:

Finally we reached George - stopped at Werner's house...
He had no key, just the remote for the garage ...
Guess what, the remote was as dead as the 1200 - it also had a proper swim the previous day !!!  :(  ::)
So he had to break into his own house, but luckily he left the rear sliding door un-locked!!! Finally - some good luck ...

He insisted to fetch his bike alone - I think it was either decency, pride or the chance to say good bye to his 12 yr old trusty Steed - alone !!!  :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:

Me and Dawie had a quick one at Ponto's, well I had two  :-[ , not speaking much, just shaking our heads in awe - WHAT AN ADVENTURE !!!
