Great trip report, as everyone else said, it's such a pity you were unable to continue with your adventure. And I can only imagine how you felt, I cried with you when I read that it was the end of your journey!
Well done to all of you on those sandy bits... I hate sand... scary stuff!
I also had/have a few dreams, one was to finally ride to CT, and I did just that in Feb (my ride report is there somewhere). I guess I was very lucky that I had no mishaps on my 5000km trip, even though I found myself all alone on various gravel roads, sometimes not seeing any humans at all.
My other dream is also Namibia... but I'm not sure it's ever gonna happen. Finances are always a biggie, and this one I would be reluctant to do on my own, so would need to find suitable riding company. I'm VERY slow on gravel (make up for it on tar though!) and I don't like doing morese long stretches on dirt, it's too physically tiring with that somewhat heavy beastie of mine. So I would need to ride with some rather patient company!
Anyway, glad you didn't get hurt and at least had a good ride back. And some really stunning pics...
