Ek lees lekker in MY TAAL :thumleft:

I can`t see whats going on in this tale

edgy, I'm afraid you lose this one! ;D

Unfortunately one would have to be a skilled wordsmith in both languages to try and carry the spirit of the content into English. IMO translating it will result in loss of character - the way it is written, in native, raw Afrikaans, is the way it needs to be experienced.

(I toyed with the idea of translating my favourite passage from the RR, but decided to just enjoy it instead.)

Spot net man  My afrikaans is darem goed genoeg om die verhaal te waardeur! :thumleft:

:thumleft: :thumleft: *heh-heh* Gedog daar skuil iets agter die  mannetjie! Then you'll have to agree that the original is best.

Die aanhaling van TE Lwarence en die skrywer se opmerking daarmee saam beskryf presies wat hier gedoen word:" 'A biker is one of those fortunates who is a warrior with the soul of a poet.' En moet tog nooit probeer om enigiets hiervan aan onbekeerdes te verduidelik nie."  Hierdie is in poetiese styl geskryf met die opregtheid van 'n digter!  Great stiff!!
