Safely back home.
What a bash and what a trip.
Thanks to the guys that rode with me. It is one to remember. :thumleft:

Wat 'n naweek! :thumleft:

1. Veldblom, Veldbrand en Maretha. Julle is ysters! Moerse dankie vir al julle harde werk! :thumleft: :thumleft: 8) Shark_ZA also helped a lot at the meat station as well as the prize giving. Thanks mate! :thumleft: Ok. Kilroy also did some work Friday afternoon.  :eek7: :imaposer:

2. Adam and Maudie. Thanks a lot for your perfect hosting of the bash. Kan nie beter gewees het nie! Bykosse was great en genoeg! Site is awesome!

3. Adam ran around and made fire every evening, sweating like a pig and leaving the dogs  to kuier.  8)

:thumleft:

5. Die bar men. Thanks a lot! These guys must have been out on their feet yesterday. Think they went on till 03H00 on Saturday morning and started again at around 09H00 same day till late again. 190 odd dogs clamoring for booze non-stop! Maudie had to go replnish their bar stock Saturday morning quick-quick. Het die honne bietjie onder skat. Thanks guys! :thumleft:

6. Aan die res. 6 years now. No problems ito of general "discipline".  ::) Seriaas.

:imaposer:

Had an epic time!!!

We stoetied up to the venue on Wednesday leaving JHB at 3am and arriving in Vioolsdrif at 5pm! and a sweltering 40 degrees
Set up out tent and hit the bar to introduce ourselves to the friendly bar staff. after a few cold ones we lit the Swannie for some chow, Kilroy and Co arrived at around 9 and after assisting with getting them sorted we hit the bar again.

A Dip in the Orange! Water was awesome and flowing fast!!

After Canon we headed to Seeheim where I had a lekker swim at the hotel and had a cold beer  ;)
Did I mention it was CRAZY Hot!!!

Our initial plan was to do 400ks and then find a place to camp but by 3pm we had done 400ks and it was still way to hot to stop so we kept on till around 5pm, I saw a green tree line about 20ks west of the road we were on and we left the road and headed into the bush, after a bit of scouting we found a stunning shady spot in the dry river bed. We set up camp, had a braai and made a nice camp fire and proceeded to polish of 2L of warm red wine! What a feeling camping in the middle of nowhere with no sign of civilisation for miles in any direction!

After a great nights sleep we packed up and headed out towards Rosh Pinah at around 7:30am
This section of road was GREAT! nice fast sections with loads of sandy drifts to keep you on your toes!
Li and I were playing nicely and flew threw the drifts side by side at speed with smiles and shouts of"WhoooHooo!"

Once we hit the tar section just before Rosh Pinah the temp dropped to 10 degrees I was surprised at how quickly the temps changed from day to day here!

We made it back to the Border at Vioolsdrift at 12 and had a nice lunch at the Wimpy and got back to the venue by 1pm.

Here things got very festive very quickly!!!
Was great to chat dop and laugh with old friends and to make new ones!!

Bokom Bende!
