Not often you see Stoetbul "Pushing" a trailer hey!

Yes, yes, yes!

Lekker to put some faces to forum chirps, make new friends, drink a few with some old friends and laugh a helluva lot.
Also the biggest birthday party I’ve ever had. Didn’t even have to invite anybody…

As Journeyman mentioned a huge thanks to Maudie and crew for looking after us and being very helpful with everything.
Great venue and even better company.

Pity about the few soldiers who fell but by the sound of it, nothing too serious.
Hope y'all heal soon.
I think a few okes will take longer to get over their babbelasse….

Dit was ‘n jol.
Thanx people. :thumleft:

A few random shots.

I didn't take lots of photos so here is what I got.

Raka and myself left Thursday after work for Delareysville where we stayed over at one of his friends' house.

Photo 1:  Next morning at Delareysville 6am

Photo 2:  Long boring tar stretches.  That's upington 160km to go.  Another 6 and half hours to the bash.

PHoto 3: Outside Pofadder, it's time for a Beer.

Photo4:  Same

We arrived at the Bash scene with only a half hour sunlight to spare. That is  1100km in the saddle all day.

Friday night I had a lekker jol with the Northern Cape dogs, and met a lot of the guys.  Lekker laat gesuip in die bo dorp

Then later I kept Dodo, BAll and Chain and Arfar busy.  I tucked Arfar in bed at 4am, and then went to bed myself.

Saturday Morning I was begging somebody to take a ride with me.  So Berm Rooster walks up to me.

Bermie:  Boer wil jy ry.

Ek:  Ja.

Bermie:  Nou kom ons fokkof.

And off we go.

PHoto1:  Pragtig

Photo2:  Moerse klippe.  Bermie got pissed off at the people writing their names on these stones.

Photo 3:  Nog Pragtig,  Maar is die die regte pad ooit?

PHoto 4:  I all of a sudden get great respect for Veldbrand en Veldblom.  He told me he did this road with a 1150GS with Pillion all the way to Port Nolloth.  Faark.  We hit 30 km of this shit deep sand riverbed, and I miss my Dakar standing at home.

PHoto 5:  Sandmonster grabs my front wheel!  I fly over the handlebars and last thing I see before I black out is a black block of flats falling on top of me.

My ribs is sore, my shoulders hurt, wrists are sore en my koppie raas.

Berm Rooster turns around because I am not coming back and the sand roads only get worse ahead.

We call it quits, but we find the only tree in the Groenrivier loop, and have lunch.  Biltong en brannewyn, oppie klippe.  Letterlik!

Photo 1:  View from the lunch spot

PHoto 2:  Same desolation. A magical place.  I will be back with my smaller bike.

PHoto 3:  Bermie.  Tx vir jou hulp Tjom.  Ek was maar seer en my koppie het geraas, my Koos Wye Voete en Biltong maak mens weer kans sien vir die pad terug.

PHotos 4:  On the way back I have 3 punctures just to make sure I have a Super Kak day.  Again, Berm Rooster helps out.

Photo 5:  I hang back and try artistic photos, but walking and climbing this little koppie without using my arms turns out to be tough.

Photo 6:  Another shot.

Nope, we got lost.  Took the first turn off left, instead of going straight.  I've got a map of the section.  I will post it here.

edit:  Here is the map.  If Only I had this before the time.

Redline is the correct route.  Green line is where we were and turned around.  Seems it is a dead end road anyway.

Green Arrow is the left split we got wrong
Red Arrow is the left split we were suppose to take.
