National Bash ride Report

Photo 2  The damaged BOF.  Turns out, it was the wrong road we were on.    NO Shit!

Sunday Morning, I am stiff and sore and luckilly I had my trailer at the bash in case somebody else fell.  Irony hey?  ???


So the rebeldogs help me load the bike onto the trailer, (I was too full of painkillers)  And off we go to PTA with Shebangu and Joupa.  But 10km out when we hit the tar....

So I offload the bike, and I head back to the campsite.  Seems I just got a weeks holiday!!!

But Veldbrand has got space for me on his trailer, so yet again I have a lift home, and I can't stay behind to ride the bike back.

We stop over in Upington, and I camp on the banks of the orange river in the first TWO MAN STEALTH CAMPER TENT


PHoto 1:  Bike offloaded, and I head back to the campsite.

PHoto 3:  Next morning Sunrise on the banks of the orange river.

Thanks to everybody for all the help and assistance after my crash.  And to those who kept giving me beer, your idea of pain management was better.  :biggrin:

We had an awesome trip – my first taste of Namibia, and I’m sure to be back, soon I hope!  :mwink:

It was HOT AS HELL indeed!!

The only thing we saw on the road while travelling for 2 hours was our own dust :biggrin:

The place is so desolate that they just leave crashed vehicles in the middle of nowhere all over the place

Ek het ook daar gaan ry. Het terug gekom net toe julle gaan. Jammer julle het nie vroeer laat weet nie dan kon ons saam gaan.

Day 4 – Vioolsdrift

Coffee was much needed first thing!

Oi – and it wasn’t Adventurer!!

The outdoor showers and bathrooms, interesting concept but a stunning view of the orange river

Day 5 – Vioolsdrift, Fish River Canyon, Ariamsvlei, Upington

The bike is down there somewhere… shows you how vast Namibia is

Watched the last half of the NZ vs Auz semi

And even sunflower was there

Ice cream was the best idea!

Day 6 – Upington to JHB

We ended the bash in style – a Jacuzzi and cocktail!! (at least it was blue)

Misty the Spar in Karasburg is my Mother inlaws, hope you had good service. The paintings on the toilet entrance is my late father inlaws humour.
