That was one place were the lowered DR came a little short. Not enough clearance or suspension to hit the steps with momentum.

What you never really quite get from the reports is how hard the first section up to the most famous part of Van Zyls is. Especially first thing in the morning with broken sleep and a slight hangover

I envy you guys, just having been there a few months back, all the sights are flooding back from memory. As stated the run up to Van Zyls pass is the real killer, I would almost go so far as to say that the 80 kays or so before the pass is some really tough riding, and by this stage you are already a bit tired from several days riding.

I know this is your back yard. But I Kak myself looking at you and Janco riding without helmets. I would hate to hear someone having to scoop your brains up off a rock after a silly fall in Namibia. Cant you at least wear a piss pot/ open face or Foot-ups helmet. Your Pip is important for the rest of your body to function. Just asking not telling!

It would be embarrassing to wear a helmet for the speeds we were riding at Glenn :ricky:
